Good News! 360 Price Cut true!
The prediction made by the Opposite Thumbs blog at the beginning of this month regarding the Xbox 360 price cut seems to be accurate. The blog predicted that both the 120 GB elite and 60 GB pro will have a $50 cut, making they prices $399 and $299 respectively. The site’s mole correctly predicted the release of the 60 GB Xbox 360.
Joystiq, a game-blog, has confirmed one of the price cuts and said theXbox 360 Elite will cost $399 on September 7th 2008!
This is a move that should make the Xbox 360 more competitive with the Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii! The exclusive release of Metal Gear solid 4, gave the PS3 an advantage over the 360.
The PS3 has gained on the Xbox 360 and according to sales figures published last week the PS3 has outsold the Xbox 360, 224,900 to 204,800 respectively. While the market leader Nintendo sold 555,000 Consoles this past month, more than both the 360 and the PS3 combined.
The PS3’s blue ray gives it another advantage over the Xbox Stealthgamers mentioned when we covered the last months Quake con that ID software’s Rage would have better graphics on the PS3 compared to the Xbox 360.
This is good news for gamers and Microsft is making itself more competitive Sony might take counter measures to secure its place in the market.
